Sometimes a book comes along that's just too darn good to keep under wraps.
When first picking it up, you of course have no idea about the literary gem you're going to find between the jackets.
You skim through a couple of pages, and then…it suddenly hits you – this is going to be one thoroughly enjoyable read.
I'm Jack James, a professional copywriter by trade. I wade through reams of the written word day in and day out. Every type and every skill level imaginable, from the barely articulate to the amazingly powerful.
I know when I have a winner in my hands. And this new fiction novel "H.E.A.V.E.N." by Nan Becklean is truly an incredible find. And considering it's coming from the talent of a first time fiction author, well you start to think… "where was she all these years?"
As I said, reading and writing is my business. But when I read for pleasure, I want something that's going to entertain me from page one. A book I look forward to picking up, and actually don't want to finish in one session – just because I want to prolong the experience.
Nan's work of suspense fiction fits the bill!

This fiction novel isn't about a doomsday scenario. The world hasn't trashed itself, the apocalypse hasn't come. Neither is it about some far-off Neverland Utopia. But society is running slightly off kilter, with one or two of its eight cylinders misfiring too often for comfort.
H.E.A.V.E.N. - an acronym for "Homeland Equitable Alliance for a Victimless Economy and Nation" – is a marvelous tale about a slightly dysfunctional future.
A future that children born today will definitely experience for themselves.
A time when medical science really has come up with a workable life extension plan, and the unintended havoc that plays with society.

As a fiction fan, I consider Nan's book a quirky cross between "A Confederacy of Dunces" and "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" melded into a lighthearted "who done it" mystery.
In fact, even though Nan's new fiction novel isn't a gloomy, cloak and daggers thriller, the last pages do come with her own set of surprises, and they're not your typical happy endings.
Now of course I'm not going to reveal the story – what fun is there in that?
Like a small, offbeat restaurant found while meandering along a quaint city side street, some things in life are best enjoyed spontaneously. You may not know what to expect, but once inside you're awfully glad you turned curiosity into action!
H.E.A.V.E.N. is just such a experience.
(Sorry – you gotta get the book to find out more. You won't be disappointed!)

Intrigued? Curious? Just plain looking for something out of the ordinary?
Then here's my suggestion: Grab your own copy of H.E.A.V.E.N., find a comfortable easy chair, settle in and start turning those pages.
But I caution you – make sure the stove is off and the cell phone is on mute. Because once you enter the world of H.E.A.V.E.N., you won't want to be disturbed!
I mean it.
So – Don't Wait! The best fiction of the year is waiting for you!

"Fun, quirky little book."
It reminds me of one of
those screwball comedies
Cary Grant used to make…
A fun read.
